The Glorious Art

Andrew Bullen

Dear friends and gentle hearts,

Apologies, right off the bat. This issue is somewhat later than we wanted to get it out. Technical difficulties and an apparent ancient curse prevented the Majestie and Glorie of this issue getting out on time. Well, mieux vaut tard que jamais, as we say.

How was your May Day? I spent it in a pissing rain storm on a cold Chicago dawn, dancing on the veranda of the historic Hotel Florence. We then repaired back to my house for an absolutely glorious communal breakfast. Laurie describes her May Day in a later article.

This follows an TRULY wonderful April and May, Morris-wise. We (as in my team) had a wonderful time at the California Tropic'Ale, and we just returned last weekend from the Midwest Morris Ale. I have been to a total of 33 Ales in my 25 years of dancing: I must say, I have never enjoyed myself quite as much as I have this spring, first in Malibu and then in Madison. I am honored to be a part of American Morris.

Normally, letters from the editors are supposed to be profound, consist of some shrewd observations, and tie the whole issue together. This is not that type of letter-- I just wanted to thank you for being with us and being a part of the AMN family. We are profoundly grateful for your audience.

If you'd like to write for us, please do, and of course write to us and tell us what you think. But mostly, thank you for being a part of my life.
